Sahaj Vaidya is a Senior Research Associate at the Koita Centre for Digital Health, Ashoka University, and former PhD scholar at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She specializes in AI policy, governance, and the responsible deployment of clinical and public-health AI in low-resource settings. Her work combines technical risk assessment (red teaming, audits) with governance tools tailored for health systems, informed by collaborations with WHO-SEARO and global development bodies. She has led projects on AI readiness, deployment toolkits, participatory auditing, and clinician training, while advising policymakers on regulatory alignment. With expertise in explainability and equitable AI, Sahaj translates global standards like the NIST AI RMF and WHO guidance into practical roadmaps, advancing health equity through technology.
